Applications of BBa_K216013
This part is designed to act as a detection system for TNT (2,4,6-trinitrotoluene). The engineered receptor TNT-R1 interacts with the extracellular domain of the Trz fusion signal transduction protein, activating the intracellular EnvZ kinase domain, which phosphorylates its cognate response regualtor OmpR, allowing activation of promoters such as the ompC promoter (BBa_R0082).
